Minipuce at 36 weeks - a.k.a how much I love Alicia Swedenborg :)

No no, my pregnancy is not back-tracking........although at this point, it does feel like minipuce is going to be in my belly forever! :) I am now at 39 weeks, our midwife Kirsten thought that she would come last weekend.....yet, no sign of the little girl. She's making us wait for her alright :)

But the good thing is, that left Alicia more time to work on the pictures she took of my belly when she came for a quick visit to Denmark at the beginning of April. I didn't mention the shoot because I didn't think that Alicia would be crazy enough to come all the way from Sweden to us for just a few hours....but turns out, she's just as crazy as me :D And that is one of the many reason why I love the girl so much - that, and she's a concentrated ball of fun!

Here is by far my favorite picture from the shoot, but you can see many more that she posted on her blog. Click here :)

Silence is gold

That's something that you can't say very often when you have a fifteen months old.

Ooooh no.

Silence in the house, these days, usually means that Olivia is somewhere making trouble. I am drinking my tea at the table, until I notice that Olivia has made herself disappear. Troels and I look at each other. "Olivia, ou es-tu?". Well, turns out, most likely redesigning our coffee table with her crayons. Or emptying mama's purse and finding many treasures that she can take to her own treasure box. Or heading for the stairs - you know, because the view is so much prettier from up there. Among other things. So no, silence is hardly ever gold for us :)

But this weekend, it was. Pure gold slience. And I know that it's Easter and that what we should have been celebrating....but our weekend was totally not about that. Olivia left for a weekend trip with her farmor and farfar to visit the rest of the family in Jutland. Giving us, lucky parents, not one, not two, but three whole days of silence around the house. And not that we don't miss her - we usually spend most of our timing without her talking about her :D But having that silence just for a little bit. That nothingness. That calm before the storm "hits", so to say. And AMEN is all I have to say to that.

Nothing to do but to enjoy the sun. Go have picnics by the water.

Holds hands and go on walks.

Eat ice cream. Lots and lots of ice cream. Mmmmm passionfruit, peach, cononut, raspberry, lemon......I can't get enough sorbets these days. I'll take one of each flavor thank-you-very-much.

Oh, and if you walk around our garden these days you'll find a lot of these little white guys. There's popping out everywhere. Here you have it, Troels has picked up golfing and nobody can't stop him now ;)

Into the wild

Well. If you can call the Danish countryside "the wild"......uhm. yeah.

But with the spring finally reaching Denmark, we've been out a lot lately, so that has to count for something. And "Into the wild sounded" better than "a stroll at the park" - now you expect some adventure out of this post, right?! :D Plus, I just felt like making a reference to one of my favorite movies.....so please. Give the hormonal pregnant lady a break and don't diss my post title! :D

Just a few pics from our "wild" adventures this week. Still waiting for baby to come -saw my midwife today, and she left me with a "see you on Sunday or Monday!" because apparently my body is this close to giving birth....we'll see if she's right ;) In any case, we're still waiting for baby, and since the nice weather is finally here we're enjoying every minute that we can possibly spend outside with the little Olive.

The Olive and I had a little date to go see the sheep. We hopped on the bicycle and spent most of our time chasing and tickling each other...oh. And eating sticks too. It's always a must, the eating-the-sticks part :) This little girl is just so much fun, pure goodness I tell ya'.

And today, we had a "family-o'-three" date in Hilleroed. Ok, so you'll only see two people of the pictures. But I was there too I swear :) Geese, I really need to get better at getting myself on pictures. Anyhow...back to our little date...

Lunch on the grass - with breaks to go run after the birds and tickle daddy's feet :) Oh, and of course. we climbed trees. Duh. You can't got into the wild without doing a little bit of tree climbing! :)

The way these two love each other.....I could just sit there all day watching them. Better than sipping a margarita, I just get dizzy watching them :)

And last but no least, here's a little video of Olive running around and checking out "the wilderness" :D Happy Easter everybody!

Carpe Diem

The last couple of weeks, I've been on the chill pill :) Doing a little bit of work of course, like Nuno's maternity session... whatever photo session I can manage to do with my basketball of a belly! :D - thank goodness for patient clients who let me take all the time I need to get up and down so I can catch what I want with the angle I want!

But mostly, I've been enjoying each day. As in, EACH day. Nothing more, nothing less. Just letting myself go with the flow of the little things that don't always seem like much, but that make life so wonderful. Because, soon enough, another little piece of beautiful mess is going to join us and rock our world - for the better of course-, and we can't wait for her to come...but we can also wait :) And right now, there's nothing that I'd rather do than to enjoy things just as they are.

Like breathing in all of that Spring goodness.

Granted that spring is a bit slow to come up here in Denmark - my dear French friends, please stop bragging about the absoltelyawesomebirlliant weather you've been having:D So the carpe diem comes in handy here as well. As Forrest Gump said "You never know what you're gonne get" :D the weather is still a bit chilly and quite unpredictable. It's not often good, but when it is, oh boy the day feels so sweet. Olivia and I have been enjoying some nice little late afternoon snacks in the garden after I pick her up from daycare.

She just wants to be outside all the time and it's a battle every time we have to get her back inside. The girl has some opinion, can you blame her with the parents she has? :D

Or taking this little girl to the pool to hang out with her little friend Clothilde.

The girls love the swimming pool, they kick their legs like little frogs as soon as they hit the water, smiling so big that they probably swallow more water than their stomach can handle, but they don't seem to care a bit. They are happy :) Soon enough I'm not sure we'll have as much time for this, so It's great to just enjoy it while we can!

And then, here's to getting a few girls together for an evening of warm drings, hygge, good laughs....and most importantly, Nutella mug cakes :D No pics of the evening -somehow I never quite feel like picking up my camera when it's hygge time, it almost feels like it you break the moment and make the hygge disappear. But here's pics of the nutella mug cakes. My first attempt, and won't be my last - they were delish! If you want the recipe, click here.

29

And it came in a blink.

29.

The last year in my twenties. My last few months without wrinkles. My last chances to party all night long. My last glimpse of freedom. Haha. Ok I am joking here. The great thing about marrying a guy that's a bit older than you is that no matter how old you get, there's always the comfort that you're still young compared to him and that's just priceless :D Right, honey?

But no kinding, that number did come in a blink. It was yesterday only that I had shorter hair and celebrating my twenties. Or so it feels. And yet, so so much has happened since then. I can't quite wrap my head around all of it. Moving countries. Finding my skattmus. One little girl. And another one on the way. And these are only the very big things, there's been so so much more to all of these years!

So here is my one-more chance to make my twenties count, and you bet ya' I'm gonna take it! Looks like this year is going to be business as usual - a.k.a crazy and an utter mess by anybody else's standards :) -, and I am so looking forward to all of it.

As so, turning 29 has also been a perfect excuse to eat endless amounts of cake - or rather, homemade tart in my case.....can't get enough of them apples :)

And an excuse to get friends together an escape to this little outdoor playground where kids could make trouble in the mud, climb up big trees and other mischief, while adults stuffed themselves with delicious warm Snobrød that we baked on the fire and jam.

Completely Danish, and that's just what I wanted for to celebrate my birthday. Friends gathered around a big fire, chatting while drinking hot coffee. We had a blast, me and my pretty flower rainboots. Oh yeah, cause it ain't really a birthday unless you're wearing some kind of flower! Helloooooow!

My opinion on turning 29? Hurra hurra hurra as the Danes go :)
