A bucket full of sunshine

....and a mouth full of leaves and sticks. At least, Olivia's is.

Fall here could easily kick New England's butt. Just sayin' :) The most amazing forests of golds and coppers everywhere you walk, drive, cycle. Which also means, that we have plenty of leaves to rake in garden these days. So we put our little tree-hugger out on a blanket while we do the work I rake rake rake. Turn around. Leaves in her mouth. Rake rake rake again. Oh, did you know sticks taste wonderful too?

I do try and stop her....but she gets such a kick out of it....and hey, you got to let them be little too :)

My mum made this beautiful little purple hood for her....so now she's like a miniature version of the Little Riding Hood. Cuttest thing you've ever seen I bet ya'.

I just can't get enough of this sunny fall, soon we'll only get a few hours of sunshine a day, and if only I could I'd save up some in a bucket for later. For whenever I need a little sunshine snack this dark December.

I see London I see France

Two days, two capitals. What do you want. I've always been an overachiever. :D

The last weekend of my trip back home I delegated the care of the little Olive to parents for a couple days of hanging out with the Michounettes in London. And what do Michounettes do when they get together? Well, turns out...they eat. And they eat. And eat again. Mmmmm I guess the French roots always kick back in when we're all reunited :)

Just a few snaps from this weekend, nothing fancy, just to remember the little things that made the weekend so nice. We talked and walked along the Thames river, and got ourselves carried away by the market of Portobello road in Notting Hill. Pure goodness if you ask me, a weekend with the girls is exactly what I needed.

But then you know how my timing works. So I ran home to give my little girl the biggest hug in the history of hugs....and then it was time to get to Paris! I'd planned one day their before our flight back to DK so that we could spend some time with Marraine tatate Patate Soaz :) - also very much needed!

And it doesn't hurt that she lives right around the corner from my favorite part of Paris - Montmartre, the artist neighborhood. Ha the lovely steep steps.....that we had to walk up with a baby :D Nonetheless, still my favorite neighborhood! We walked around, I had a crepe....or two (only because my blood sugar was so low from going up these stairs :D). The sun was shining. A few fall roses were still out.

And all of these little girls had a big smile on their face.

I could have just gotten myself lost in time there, and forget all about my flight. I can't wait to spend more time in Paris this New Year's.

A handsome little man

*To view the full slideshow of the session, click here!*

And not only is he a handsome little man, he is also my nephew :) Am I a lucky Aunt or what?!

My sister gave birth to her second boy, little Jean, on September 21st. And I couldn't help it but take some pictures of him while I was visiting my family with Olivia earlier this month. That, and pinch his lovely little cheeks. These were really the two must-do on my list :)

Jean is already so aware of the world that I couldn't manage to get a classic newborn picture of him asleep just cuddling up. But all the better for me, because instead I got to gaze into his big eyes.

His parents and big brother are already so in love with him.

And Olivia, she is going to be so happy to have a little cousin her age to play with....Ohhhhh I can already see some spoiled little babies at the family reunion this Christmas :)

I just liked the good old In'N'Out blog to change it......it almost part of me now! So, keep your fingers crossed that I can keep the two blogs updated regularly.

Here are a few, but go to my new photo blog for tons more: http://www.audreysmit.com/blog

New beginnings

Olivia and I are still in France until the end of the week, running around in my childhood house. Sleeping in the same bedroom I had as a little girl. Grabbing food with old friends. Walking in the small streets I've always known and stopping at the bakery where I used to buy my candy when the tooth fairy left me a coin or two. And in the midst of the comfort of all the things I've known for so long, I am celebrating new beginnings.

A new nephew. My sister gave birth to her second child just about two weeks ago. The most adorable little boy, his name is Jean and you can easily tell how proud my sister, and husband David are proud of him :) And Nils is so happy to have a little brother at home! Of course I had to take some pics of him this morning. More to come next week, in the meantime here are a couple I particularly love. Look at his face in the second picture...I just love how babies so young don't have complete control of their eyes and mouth and make so many faces :) Priceless.

And on the list of new beginnings.....Olivia is now mobile, it's official! Ok, so she can't go too too far still....but it's only a matter of days now. Troubles ahead I tell you :) And oh she's so proud of herself, look at her flap her wings like a little bird at the end of the video. She's ready to take off!

And with that, I am also planning on revamping my entire blog soon......so be ready for some action around here :)

Moving to the Ile of Re

...at least that's what I wish I was doing right now :)

I just got back yesterday from a couple of days shooting a wedding on this beautiful, most charming little French on the Atlantic coast. I really wish I could have stayed there much much longer....like, move there? Oh how I can imagine myself riding a little bike along the coast, going to the market through the small old streets and eating crepes every day until my belly explodes. But my little girl was at home with my mum, and I just couldn't wait to get back to her, crepes or no crepes.

But I will go back, and take my hubby and little girl with me this time so that they too can see this amazing place. And I'll post pics of Pierre & Helene's wedding soon too - that too, was amazing :)
