The visitors

One of the great things about living in New York is that people ALWAYS want to come visit - so when we moved in, we had one requirement, that is a incorporated mini-fridge for cocktails
a pullout bed for our friends to sleep on. And we put that little couch to good use this August before Troels' best friend Anders came for 3 weeks with his little family. That's right people. 8 people. Including 4 kids under 4. In a two bedroom apartment. For 3 weeks. Crazy? Yes, you can call us that indeed :) It's been a lot of fun getting the kids together - all four of them slept in the same bedroom and it felt a bit like summer camp :) Lucky for us, it didn't rain so much so we were able to just haul everybody outside to enjoy the great outdoors of NYC ;) We had some lovely picnics in the park right next to our apartment.

We also ventured out to Brooklyn to the new Water Lab at Pier 6. It was a bit of a hike to get there - long walk in the burning sun with no shade for the kids. But the minute we got there we forgot all about it....that place is magical! Kids get to play and experiment with water....we could have stayed there for hours. Wait. We did. :)

I mean, look at these kids. Look at these smiles :)

Battery Park organizes some great activities outdoors in the summer - like the drumming session by the river where anybody can join. We couldn't stay very long, but it was so much fun!

So yeah - maybe having 8 people in a NYC apartment was a crazy idea. But man, do we have good memories to hang on to now :)
