Bermuda vacation - or how to travel back to the 80's

Lots of sun, lots of beach time with warm warm water, quiet moments, pure air -you'd notice too if you lived in NYC!!-....and lots of music from the 80's. That would summarize our Bermuda vacation in a few words. The remainder of our honeymoon, and also "babymoon" before our little girl arrives - we had SUCH a great time! The place where we were staying kept playing music from the 80's over and over - with an excess of a reagae version of "falling in Love with you". Lovely lovely time :D

We saw lots of little and big fish going snorkling. Highlight of the trip for me - swimming with the doplhins. I had been wanting to do this for SO long, so here was my opportunity! No pics of that yet - my camera "decided" to stay on vacation in Bermuda for a few extra days. But I shall post them as soon as my camera comes back!

And yet another Stone Street night :)

Nothing like dinner in our little street, with Sarah and Elodie :) People coming to NYC for a visit, make sur eyou come have dinner here one night while you're here - there is really nothing else like this street in NYC, and most likely it won't be in any of your tourist guides.

3, 2, 1....GO!!!! The Guest-athon has begun :D

Having one friend come over from far away and stay with you = PRICELESS
Having seven friends from far away alternate coming for a whole month straight = CRAZY?!!!

And that's where Troels and I are heading. A whole month of friends and family visiting us in our cosy little apartment.

Guests 1: Sarah and Elodie - August 31 to September 11
Guests 2: David and Alex - September 11 to Septemeber 26
Guest 3: Dani - September 26 to October 3rd
Guests 4: Jim & Nancy - October 3rd to October 6

Will Troels and Audrey survive the Guest-athon? Will they not? The bets are open!

Welcome to New York, Sarah and Elodie :) So happy you're here! And lucky you for being the first ones on the list! We had a little welcome party dinner on Monday with my friends Brittany (visiting from Boston - she's a harvard nerd) and Andrew.....oooooh lovely lovely tradition of making our guests drink shots of discusting danish alcohol. Nothing sets the mood like it :D

Oh how I love spending 17 dollars on my lunch food just like I did yesterday (don't ask me how much i got for it, I am ashamed of it).....and I wonder why my belly keeps growing the way it does - go figure! :D

First sewing projects!!!

So here is what I had in mind a few days ago: first make a pin cushion -because I really couldn't do anything without it! I used the fabric left over from when I shortened Troels' pants + some felt.

And then....these little baby boots :) Really happy about how they turned out! If we have a girl, I am keeping these for us - we're finding out on Wednesday so we'll know soon! If not - I'll send them to some of my friends who just had a baby girl.

My new baby :D

Received my very first sewing machine yesterday, plus some of the fabric that I bought.....oh I am SO excited! It's like getting a bag full of candy if you are a kid, at least for me! Already have an idea for a project for this weekend, and just can't wait to get started on it. I had been saving up for a few months to get this - so having it now is even sweeter. Watch out, all your fabric geeks out there :)

Sous le soleil exactement

It's been a veerrrrry short - and weird summer in New York. Either we had to deal with days and days of rain, or extremely hot days where the smallest thought about going to the overheated subway would give me nightmares at night. NOT fun to be pregnant in the summer in NYC, good thing that I am not quite a hippo yet :)

Rare opportunity today to go to the beach with some of Troels' clients, Lara and Allen. We found a nice beach - well, for that weekend it meant that we found something that was relatively not crowded. haaaaaaa new york beaches :) But really, lying in the sun by the water is just so nice and relaxing....I'll take whatever I can!

Tinymus at 13 weeks :)

here is the latest pic, enjoy :) the baby was salsa dancing in my belly when we did the ultrasound, just cracked me up - the US technician could not get a good picture of it for a while. Some energy we're gonna have to deal with in a few months! :)

Roma!

Our last day in Italy: a fantastic day of walking and walking around beautiful Rome, of lots of history, of my last gelato(s), of Troels wishing he could be a gladiator and of being rejected by the pope for being too slutty :D hehe - my shoulders were showing a little bit so no access to the Vatican for me!.

What a way to end our trip!

I am in love with Tuscany

We only spend one day driving down Tuscany - but that was enought to make me fall in love with it. I can't wait until our next trip there - I can already imagine us like the girl in "Under the Tuscan Sun", sipping wine and eating smelly italian cheese while looking at the vineyards :)

Cinqueterre

Troels and I had always talked about going to to Cinqueterre ever since we met - so we really could not avoid going. So much charm in those little villages - and the best pizza we had in Italy at the little restaurant in Monterosso. Oh and that homemade fig tart!!!!! I can still remember the taste of it - notice the trend that I have to talk about food here? We took a boat between the villages for most of it, except for a small part where we actually walked between two of them on the "via dell'Amore" - how appropriate for our honeymoon. The path is called so because, we heard, when a first path was made between the two villages, it mostly allowed lovers from the two villages to meet up :)
