The big Christmas blowout

And not in the terms that you would think. It's just that our Christmas this year, well...blew a little bit. And you know me, I am not a pessimistic person. But Olivia's first Christmas was pretty far from what I had imagined it would be. Let me explain.

It started with all of us being sick the few days leading to Christmas. "Oh well, big deal" I thought "we'll be in France soon, and we'll be able to drink and relax and celebrate Christmas with everybody and it's going to be grand!". Except for, we didn't take the snow into account. Nor did we anticipate that Charles de Gaulle airport would run out of de-icing product for their plane on Christmas eve. We were supposed to fly early morning on the 24th, but our plane was canceled, and no plane left for France that day. Oh - and we had no food at home since we had cleaned up our fridge...and all stores and restaurants are closed in Denmark on the 24th! We thought we'd be condemned to eating a gas station dinner on Christmas eve.... Thankfully Troels' brother found out we were still around, and him and Ditte invited us to celebrate with her family - which pretty much made our day! Thanks again for saving us guys :)

We ended up taking a 6.50 am flight on 25th -Merry Christmas Olivia! Try to see if you can still see Santa in the sky :S And it continued on and on. Our plane left late, we waiting for our luggage for almost two hours, missed our train, had to wait another 3 hours for another train.......10 hours after we left Denmark we finally arrived home, and you can guess that we were all pooped out to really celebrate Christmas. But we did. And it still felt nice. Just, different. Not really like Christmas is supposed to feel. But at least, Olivia won't remember this first Christmas so hopefully she won't hate us forever :)

So what is your guess? Boy or girl?????

Because we just came back from the hospital and we know :) So what do you think, boy or girl????

Boy or girl?

Well, the answer is....it seems like there is one thing we know how to make well......little girls :) So we'll have adding another one to this sweet little family of ours in May. A little sister for Olivia! Oh, and this little minipuce is super healthy, so we couldn't be happier!

The best day of my life...

It's not secret that Troels and I very often "speak" for Olivia. See, the truth is, we just can't wait for this little girl to be able to talk, tell us about her day, what she likes, what she dreams about.....so in the meantime, well, we pretend that she does tell us by speaking for her. It makes us smile inside and out :) And one of the things that 'Olivia' says very often is "This is the best day of my life"....which she 'says' just about every day :) See, it is just that she issuch a happy little girl, and she gets so excited, and smiles, and clap her hands.

Just like daddy and mommy walked with me to daycare last Friday. And min lille far put me up on his shoulder. And there was snow everywhere. And birds flying above my head from tree to tree. And oh-the trees were so high. And my silly mommy, she was chasing us pretending she was going to eat me. Oh, that was the best day of my life.

Minipuce at 18 weeks :)

This has been long overdue, my goal was to take a picture at 16 weeks like we had done with Tinypuce so that I could compare the two bellies...but well, you know how it goes. Nonetheless, here is a little belated picture of our minipuce, who is growing growing growing. Guess it's looking a lot like my belly at 19 weeks with the little Olive. And we should know next Monday if Olivia is going to have a little sister or a little brother. Can't wait!
